Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, July 27, 2018 – Changes have occurred within two teams of the Hydroplane Racing League. Indeed, one is Guillaume Charette who sold his equipment to Marc Lalonde, the new owner of the F-17. In addition, Simon Fortin becomes the new partner of the hydroplane identified as the F-28. He will drive the boat in 2019 and Yan Lecompte will act as a mentor for the next two seasons.

Marc Lalonde will debut in North Tonawanda

The 33-year-old Marc Lalonde will be racing the boat at the next race in North Tonawanda on August 4th and 5th. He will keep the number F-17 as well as the colors of the boat for the 2018 season. However, for the 2019 season, it is a new number and new colors that will be on the hydroplane. The karting driver was advised by the H-799 driver Rémy Leblanc before making the decision to buy the Charette boat.

Yan Lecompte becomes mentor to Simon Fortin

Yan Lecompte will remain associated with the F-28 for the next two years and will mentor the driver Simon Fortin in his apprenticeship. The new driver was already part of the regatta world as a teammate of Tommy and Norman Shannon. Hydroplanes are therefore not unknown to him.

In addition, his uncle Jean-Luc Fortin, crew chief for Rémy Leblanc and renowned for his expertise in the world of hydroplanes can certainly give him valuable advice.

The Hydroplane Racing League is delighted that new teams are joining the circuit and wish the two new drivers every success.
