Valleyfield’s Denis Rousse returns to Pro Hydro
- –
Denis Rousse will make his return to the Pro Hydro class for the 2026 season. He will take the controls of the former GP-25 hydroplane, recently modified at Henderson Hydroplanes, which will carry the number V110 and the name L’Oiseau bleu, an identity he has used since 1987.
A longtime enthusiast of the GNH / 7-liter class, Denis explains that the idea of areturn has been developing for some time. He began working on a comeback project in 2023, but it could not be finalized at that moment.Today, he notes the growing interest in the Pro Hydro class and wants to return to competition while also contributing to its growth and visibility.
From a competitive standpoint, Denis expects a highly competitive season. He identifies Guillaume Charette as his main rival, driving his brand-new boat. Rousse has also invited Denys Charette to take the wheel of one of the Pro Hydro boats from the Charette Racing – Essence Pro-Hydro team, owned by Guy Durand, for a race. The invitation was accepted, allowing the two drivers to compete together, with camaraderie, as they jokingly refer to themselves as “the two old-timers. ”
Finally, his personal objective is clear. After having often finished second in Valleyfield throughout his career,Denis is now aiming for the top step of the podium. Confident in the potential of the boat and his team, he believes this season could finally be the right one, provided he plays his cards well, gets good starts, and remains consistent throughout the year.
Welcome back, Denis!
