New Chapter in Formula 2500: Gustave Himbeault Takes Over from Guillaume Charette
- –
After several standout seasons in the Formula 2500 class, Guillaume Charette has announcedthat he is stepping away from competition to focus fully on the Pro-Hydro class. His departure opens the door for 20-year-old Gustave Himbeault, who will make his HRL debut at the helm of the S-55 – Himbeault Racing.
Coming from a family passionate about racing, Gustave grew up in the pits, his father was part of a team, and he becameinvolved at a young age. In 2015, he befriended Andrew Tate, who was still relatively unknown at the time, and joined his crew untilAndrew’s move to the Steeler team. He later continued his learning experience with Hearns Motorsport, where he gained strong mechanical and setup skills.
The number 55 he proudly carries today is a nod to Mike Weber, driver of the GP-55 My Way, who mentored and supported him in the pits for many years.
Backed by a solid and experienced team, Gustave remains humble and focused:
“As Andrew often reminds me — baby steps. I want to learn and not rush the process.”
Currently pursuing his vocational studies, Gustave plans to take part in four Canadian races this season, balancing his studies with his lifelong passion.
It’s rare for a rookie to start their journey with such strong support, the entire HRL community wishes him the very best for the upcoming season.
Welcome to the HRL family, Gustave!
