How was your performance in 2018? What were your strong and weak points?
My rookie season was satisfying in that I was able to make finals and finish every HRL race. I jumped into the sport with both feet and the learning curve was steep as I had to learn not only how to race, but also how to repair and maintain my equipment.
Are there any changes to your boat or your team?
I am encouraged for 2019 as my sponsors have helped me upgrade from an iron head to an aluminum head, among many other improvements. My team is also more prepared this year having taken in the HRL circuit last season.
Do you have any rituals just before the race?
Perhaps reflective of my military background, I prepare for races by following a pre-race procedure that involves a detailed checklist.
What are your goals for the 2019 season?
Improve each race and reach the podium. Remain safe and enjoy the camaraderie
What led you involved in this sport ?
As a former member of the Canadian Rowing Team, I have always been intrigued by speed on the water. I enjoy the process of getting faster by refining the skills and the preparation that go into racing.
