What led you to get involved in this sport?
My father, Bert Henderson, has been involved in the sport for 20 plus years and he started me out young in outboards and now has given me the opportunity to go inboard racing.
How was your performance in 2019?
My performance in 2019 was what I was expecting. My goal at the beginning of the season was to get used to the new boat and tune it in my liking. The season started off pretty rough, but slowly worked through our problems. We were able to get all the bugs worked out off the boat and we started performing very well at the end of the 2019 season.
Are there any changes to your boat or your team? If Yes, which ones?
There are no significant changes to the boat, but there is a change in the team. This year, Mathis-Gabriel Chiasson and I are splitting up and we each have our own boat. We are in the same class so we will be able to compete with each other and really put each others driving skills to the test. It is going to be awesome getting to race my former teammate and co-pilot.
What are your goals for the 2020 season?
This year my goal is to win a final heat. Last year I came close with a second place finish in beauharnois and that was a huge accomplishment for me being a rookie. But this 2020 is a big year for me and I am super stoked to be racing again.
What will make you stand out from other drivers?
My good looks and red hair. Being a third generation Henderson to be racing.
Is there a reason attached to the name of your boat?
It is the name of my father’s boat and we both have the same sponsors, we are a team.
