2021 will mark your debut as an HRL driver, what are your expectations for this year?
After a few years of absence, 2021 will mark my return to the circuit. I aim to complete every lap and return to the dock after each race. I made several major changes to my boat over the winter; it looks like a it’s a brand new boat! Finishing each race is my first goal, then if the boat performs well, I can hope for a place in the finals, that would be really nice.
What led you to get involved in the world of hydroplanes?
Many years ago, my father was racing with SPORT ATOUT. I got hooked at a young age and it was my dream to build my own boat someday. That’s the main reason why I got into the world of hydroplanes.
What does the name and number of your boat mean?
I chose that name because I put so much effort into this, almost all my money and time went into building the boat. People used to tell me: « Dominic, you’re always going ALL-IN or nothing ! ». As for the number, I wore that number when I won a provincial football championship, with my father coaching. It was a truly memorable moment. Also, this number coincides with my sister Caroline’s birthday.
