Cambridge, April 6th, 2018 – The Cambridge Regatta Association is proud to announce the addition of the Jersey Speed Skiff Class to its 2018 racing program. This announcement is made possible following the approval of the Hydroplane Racing League – HRL says Tom Thompson, promoter of the Cambridge Powerboat Regatta Association.

During the first race of the HRL circuit, attendees will have the chance to see 10 to 12 spectacular boats in action.

These engines, which can reach speeds up to 130 km/h, have no secrets for Tom Pakradooni, the Grand Prix retiree and undisputed JSS Champion. Indeed, he was crowned Champion during last year’s event in Cambridge.

Some sixty teams are expected for the first leg of the 2018 HRL calendar, in the 5 classes on the program, including 10 boats in the Grand Prix Class.

It’s during the weekend of May 19th and 20th that we will see these experienced drivers in action, with the aim of winning the first race.
