North Webster, IN., Oct 4th, 2019 – Hearn Motorsports is proud to announce an alliance with the H8 Cancer Racing GP-25 team for 2020. In the upcoming HRL season the GP-25 team will campaign the GP-14 Hearn Motorsports Legacy One Grand Prix as if it were their own.

George Kennedy Jr and the Kennedy family already have the GP-14 and work has already begun at their shop in Delaware with hopes to go testing before winter. “This boat is a very nice hull. Everything is done right, and we look forward to adding to its performance. We will put our touch on it and hope to compete for wins and the 2020 HRL GP Series Championship!” Said George Kennedy Jr.

In 2020 the primary driver of the GP-14 will be Brandon Kennedy while his back up will be Donny Allen. Brandon stated “I look forward to this opportunity in a virtually brand new boat. We have really improved our program over the past couple years and proved already have one of the fastest GP programs. Fans may think we are crazy changing boats but we believe in the Hearn Motorsports team and the GP-14 hull. My dad is already working on the boat and the motors are being changed around for direct drive. This will be an exciting change and I thank the Hearn Motorsports team for the opportunity”.

Team Owner Richard Hearn added “ We here at Hearn Motorsports are ecstatic to partner with the H8 Cancer Racing/ Kennedy’s to keep this Legacy One GP-14 hull in the HRL series.’’

Very few people understand the significance behind the “Legacy” which is the foundation of this race team.  The true nature of this legacy has extended itself outside of blood relations and encompasses those who have become “family” through their generational racing ties over the past 65 years. For these families, Hydroplane Racing is much more than putting a fast boat on the water and pulling for a win.  It has become a bond that has held them together over the years, where memories have been made, victories have been celebrated and dreams have become one. ‘’We are truly excited to partner with Kennedy racing and solidify a lasting relationship for years to come.’’

Team Owner – Richard Hearn is from a multi-generational highly accomplished powerboat racing family. Through his winning career, Richard has won 5 National titles, 6 World Championships in the Outboard Performance Craft tunnel boat category, and was inducted into the APBA Hall of Champions in 1994. He was inducted into the APBA Hall of Champions in 2016 as an owner for setting 3 world records and winning a National Championship for his rookie season in the 5 liters Inboard class. Hearn Motorsports was consistently seen on the podium in the S2.5 liters, F2500 and Hydro350 classes in their first 4 years with HRL, including a recent win at Valleyfield in the H350 class.

Brandon Kennedy is a 2 time APBA Hall of Champions inductee with a long list of accomplishments in Inboard Hydroplane Racing. Brandon started racing at 14 years old and never looked back with multiple world records, national and divisional champions, high points championships. In his recent Hydroplane Racing League career he has won 2 HRL GP Series Championships, and multiple event wins including the prestigious Régates de Valleyfield 3 times!

Donny Allen is a 5 time APBA Hall of Champions inductee winning 8 APBA Stock Outboard National Championships in 4 different classes and has collected 5 National High Point Championships. In 2016 he claimed the 5-litre National Championship and broke the record for the fasted H-350 in the world with the H350 Legacy 1.
