Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, December 10, 2019. – The HRL announces that an agreement has been reached with the organization of Gib Fest to hold the Sorel-Tracy Regatta event which will take place from August 14 to 16, 2020.
“We are very proud to have the Gib Fest organizing committee and the support of the City of Sorel Tracy to develop hydroplane races,” said Didier Bernard Séguin, commissioner of the Hydroplane Regatta League.

The event will start on Friday, August 14th at 7pm. A music show will take place from 9:00 pm to 11:00 pm at the Catherine-Legardeur wharf. The next day, the races will start at 10 am and finish at 4 pm, then another show will take place from 9 pm to 11 pm. On Sunday, August 16th, the last races will take place from 10 am to 4 pm, followed by the closing ceremony.
A promising 2020 season
To date, some 60 teams are expected in 2020 in the 5 classes on the program. In particular, 8 boats in the 2.5 liters class, 20 in Hydro 350, 8 Jersey Speed Skiffs, 13 Formula 2500s and 10 Grand Prix class boats.
