The HRL League is pleased to have a new team in the Grand Prix class, the most prestigious in the series.
Indeed, Frank Richardson will team up with Joe Sovie as the driver of the former GP- 48 on the HRL circuit next season. The name and number that will be assigned to the boat remain to be determined depending on the sponsorship to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
The new HRL  team will be composed of Zac Richardson, son of the one who once teamed up with Robert Théorêt as the driver of the GP-1988. Richardson and Sovie will also count on Bob Sovie’s help as crew chief.
Richardson, a legendary driver who has been successful at the wheel of various boats with a vast experience will be a valuable asset within his team.
As for Joe Sovie, we recall that he drove the same boat in 2012 and 2013. During his career he also drove in various classes and his knowledge of the world of hydroplanes will allow him to aim for the podium next season.
HRL commissioner Didier-Bernard Séguin confirms the growing interest in the circuit as much for drivers as for new potential sites. Several difficult decisions have been made recently and more good news is forthcoming.
“It is with great enthusiasm that we enter the next season,” said the HRL commissioner.
